Been busy with St Andrew Competition. Must build a locomotive that can carry a 60g can of coke over a rough terrain till the finish line within the shortest time. So far, left 3 more days till competition excluding today, build only like the front bumper wheel single pole suspension system with aluminium bodyworks. I am so dam busy...

Why i never go school today

My dad drive at the BKE there when some karang guni metal items drop onto the road and my dad drive over it. Causing a critical hit on the oil tank. The oil tank was full and it was dripping. Then later park at Mandai road there in between the 2 protected area and check the car. Call the traffic police, SCDF and the repair man down. 4.30pm called, 6.30pm then arrived. The whole car was sent to Sin Ming Car Auto there to repair. Could take a few days since there is no stock for the fuel tank and best of all, it was raining the whole day. Thank god no bastard driver smoke and throw any cigarette buds down the road if not the whole car will explode.

Directions:

1. Mix 100kg of cement with 27 cubic meters of sand.

2. Pour half the mixture on to the barren land that is full of soil

3. Wait for mixture to dry

4. Build bricks around the pond

5. Use the other half of the cement to build the bricks

6. Wait for everything to dry up

7. Pour 1 truck worth of smashed rocks into the dried pond

8. Add Water

9. Add Flowers, aquatic plants, water filter

10. Add fish

11. Complete

and that is how it ended.

LOL, that's how i work out about how to build the pond in the garden.

But that ain't going to work... So it's back to square one.

Dam i am so pissed off by Sherman... Owe me ten bucks for 1 month already and cause my death skeleton figurine to be confiscated... DAM HIM... I'm so damn pissed off. Anyway, Monday pontend school coz headache then go LAN to relax.

Tuesday starts out terribly... At first, it was chinese lesson with nothing to do except writing down STUPID CHINA WORDS that brought everyone to death. LOL, got 21/40 for chinese.

Then followed by Chemistry. Dr Leow aka Mrs Leow, has dilexia(dunno how to spell) or something like that. She can't spelled properly nor read the actual words, E.g. Shaneen she spelled as Shanin in order to pronounce correctly. LOL, i only completed 80% of the Chemistry work book chapter 3. Returned us the test papers, i dunno what position i got but i do know i got 31/40 marks and the highest is 35/40. Georgine at first got 35 then some how Dr Leow found mistakes and she become 32/40. Too bad she absent and did not know about the marks changes.

Then Pure Geog. Shockingly to say that miss Vivian Tan and 2nd VP Mrs Vija was there too, having a fly on the wall observation. Then Miss Neo teach the new topic, Weather and Climate. Weather is for short period of time and Climate is for long period of time... LOL...

Bio, i got 5th position for Bio CA, First is the Dutch female, 2nd is Georgine, 3rd is Hannah, 4th is i dunno who. Guess what i score???? I got 25/40 Marks!!! THIS KIND OF MARKS CAN GET 5th Position is really a shame.

Then English, Miss Huang very sleepy i suppose and then she continue marking the papers and Georgine again got the highest for english, she got like 28/30. WTF she god or something arh?

CME, yeah... BORING... Whole Class got scolded for not handling forms on time. WTF...

CME lesson, handed up my masterpiece, whole class answer 3 question for the upcoming CME topic ( Responsibilities) Question 1, Can you be friends with the opposite sex. Question 2, Are you steady ready why, why not. Question 3, If you were on a date, how will you be reponsible.

I wrote them all down on the blue coloured construction paper and Chong Lee was the lucky guy to had took mine while i took Jun Liang's one.

Things i like about my new house: ZNOS luxury Lan Gaming centre juz around the corner, my favourite stingray stall juz a 2 min walk away, 2 hotels near my house with VERY strong 54MBps wifi signal, a block of specialize clinics that strech for like 500 metres and Esso station that is juz opposite of my house. Other huge hypermarkets like the AMK hub de near my house. A park juz a 5 min walk away, a basketball court in the park, my friendly neighbours and my clubhouse.

Things i dislike about my new house: I hate taking out the trash, trimming the grass without a lawn mover but a knife, neighbours who keep stalking my house, MY neighbour staying opposite of my house always has alot alot alot of god dam cars park infront of my house, digging a dam pond which take ages, washing the car, cleaning the car porch and i think tats about all.

People, if you wan to come to my house and enjoy the beauty of nature of my garden, your welcome. Everyone is welcome. sms me before coming if not my mum scold i dunno liao.

Ok, school life time

make qutie alot of new friends, Sherman recorded Leroy singing national anthem, leroy giving sweets to all during lessons, I got around 4th position for Pure Geography, failed my math, D & T owning, since last year score, i am top for Chemistry for now ( DAM, if i were to score below 54 instead of 64, i would have transfer to the aircon room lor) Bio sounds easy but is hard, Mrs Wendy Low is very typical singaporean and she is my form teacher( so sian shi de), Chemistry teacher abit got mental problem, Bio teacher has been living in the last era of mankind, Mdm Ang teaches us as if we were kindergardens but i LIKE IT ALOT ^^, Mr Pillai lessons are fun although writing essays sucks alot, Mdm Jodhi is my co-form teacher and my history elective teacher ( history is fun especially talking about hitler ^^), PE sucks, Mr Shahul, my Pure geog teacher is very strict yet funny at sometimes, Mr Chiz, my alpha and D & T teacher, also very funny at times, can't believe NEGC we weren't registered and yet the NCC were registered. +.=, life sucks in sec 3, dun really feel like gaming dunno why, love chinese lessons when we all stare at Leroy and laugh for nothing ( that is dumb), Can't believe old man CHEN ZHEN HUI believe i say he is my model teacher ( i even write one compo about his slackyness in CHINESE and i even handed up to my chinese teacher which is also the HOD chinese), I Love CIP, coz is like a relaxing way of doing compulsory stuff, dunno why i am being sick this few days, keep thumping and singing the I KNOW YOU WANT IT by PITBULL, Bo Wen, Matthew and CHEN YUAN YI BO are gayboys, love booing at Matthew with Bo Wen. Hahas, today nothing to do much, i slept till like 12.30pm like tat then my mum come home, bring me go sch go buy sec 3 books and my long pants. LOL. I thought i changing sch also but then never la. Reach sch le then got 3 gals at the recycle bin there saw me then say hi. I forgot who they are le, so long never go sch of course forgot lor. Then go tao payoh makan chicken rice. LOL, then my parents drive back home, then i carry all my books go home lor, then my parents go out. Then I go home read my pure geog book lor. LOL. Then Eugene call, say Oliver and he wan come to my house. Then ok lor, 5.30pm like tat Eugene came then talk talk abit then he say he meet Oliver at AMK hub there then he ask me whether wan go also la, then i dun wan lor. Then i go watch TV then about 8.15pm like tat, Oliver and Eugene came lor. Then we joke around, then Oliver dam horny, wan watch karmasutra. LOL. Then we play cards, listen to music while waiting for my mum come home lor. LOL. Then my parents came home like 9pm like tat, say wan bring us go out makan then they say need go pasir ris there awhile so we wait lor. LOL, is 26th December, 3.30am and i am sitting on my sofa in my room with my keyboard on my lap and my mouse on a long piece of wood that i scrap from my cupboard that extends till my sofa arm rest. LOL. My legs are on the table and my monitor is facing me while listening to music. LOL, There is like more then 60 cm apart from my eye to the monitor but i still can see. LOL. On the way there, at toa payoh there, got police checking for drunk drivers. LOL. Then later, i sleep on the car and forgot to wake up then by the time i wake up is like 5am le then i saw myself in the car near the MCP supermarket near Eugene house there de. LOL. Then Go to AMK ave 10 buy breakfast then go home le, by the time i finish my meal, is like 6.30 am le, then gone to bed. Wake up on 26 december, 12.30am and then on com, scan for viruses then watched Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers from 1.45pm till 5.30pm. LOL. Haha, 3rd december got class gathering and then it was like damn boring lor. Only 10 ppl show up, the rest either dead or MIA. Sian... Lols. I must thanks all those who were there when i needed advice to cope with something. I must thanks Edward, Julius, 2 sec 1 Nicholas (Nicholas with specs, your birthday 7th November hor? i going) I must thanks Brandon for his spams that irritate me but did make my tagboard lively(next time call along wai kit too for LAN). I must thanks Chenghui for telling me to dun care about that ungrateful which indeed make me feel better by alot (you shouldn't had ask me about that ungrateful on Thursday, makes me feel like vommiting upon hearing the ungrateful one). I must thanks Eugene for still treating me as a best friend after wad i had done to him during the past few years like sabotaging (ya, he still need maple training and i am going to train him). Do you people like DotA as much as god does? If so, Do you wan a new DotA base map? Since DotA has Sentinel and Scourge against each other, wouldn't it be better if we Create another DotA based map featuring the Horde pitting against the Alliance? We can call it Defense of the Kingdom (DotK) and wouldn't it be nice? It feature 5v5 and the map is like the Raging stream map of frozen throne but instead of 3 lanes like normal DotA, it has 5 individual lanes and has more army then ever. Instead of 5 Creeps, 1 mage and 1 tank respawn between interval, it nows feature twice that amount and with a Leader creep too. Leader Creep are stronger then others by alot and often carry the command of fighting. It will lead Creeps of its lane against the opposite party and when the Leader Creep is killed, one item worth less than 500 gold will be drop at random. The middle river will code name death river and Heroes can only advance throught the opposite land by the bridge. Bridges can be destroy. Example: Once the bridge is destroyed by Alliance, the opposite party will gain 500 gold while the Alliance will lose 500 gold. Buildings do not have health but will be destroyed once the gold count reaches zero for the building. This is to ensure that the game last longer and much more fun. Gold will not be spawn per second, instead, gold will be mined by miners and is left on the ground as gold coins. Players will have to pick it up for extra gold. Once every 30 mins of the game, there will be a invasion of infernal units that will kill all units and damage heroes. Infernal Units that are killed will grant the sheild of immortality (juz like roshan's Ageies) and are stackable on each other and droppable.

How to overclock your PC

The prospect of overclocking a computer system can be intimidating for a computer newcomer, to say the least. The idea is simple enough; make the computer's processor run faster than its stock speed to gain more performance without paying for it. The execution of this idea though, can be anything but simple.

Successful overclocking is as often a matter of 'what you know' as 'what you have'. Understanding the maze of hardware dependencies and tweaks that can make the difference between a successful overclock and total failure is a demanding practice.

In this Beginners Guide, PCSTATS will explore the process of overclocking processors, motherboards and memory to achieve a faster yet still stable computer. The article will guide readers step-by-step through understanding overclocking concepts, how to discover their hardware's overclocking options and the actual process of overclocking. What Does Overclocking Do?

Overclocking a computer's processor or memory causes it to go faster than its factory rated speed. A processor rated at 2.4GHz might be overclocked to 2.5GHz or 2.6GHz, while memory rated at 200MHz might be pushed to 220MHz or higher. The extra speed results in more work being done by the processor and/or memory in a given time period, increasing the overall computing performance of the PC.

Can Overclocking Damage Computer Hardware?

Yes, but it's typically unlikely. Generally speaking, when computer hardware is pushed beyond its limits, it will lock up, crash or show other obvious errors long before it gets to the point where the processor or memory might be permanently damaged. The exception to this is if extreme voltages are used when attempting to overclock, but since most motherboards do not support extremely high voltages, and neither does this guide, it's not likely to be an issue.

For older processors, heat is also a factor worth keeping a close eye on. Modern processors have thermal sensors which will slow down or shut off the PC, but older CPUs do not necessarily feature these safety devices. The best know example of this is the AMD AthlonXP (socket A/462), which was famous for burning itself up in less than 5 seconds if the heatsink was not installed properly (or at all).

The Purpose of Overclocking

The most obvious reason to overclock a computer system is to squeeze some additional performance out of it at little or no cost. Overclocking the processor and system memory can significantly boost game performance, benchmark scores and even simple desktop tasks. Since almost every modern processor and memory module is overclockable to at least a slight degree, there are few reasons not to attempt it. Important Overclocking Concepts

The following terms will be used throughout this guide, so it's important to get a good grasp on them now.

FSB (FrontSide Bus): The data bus that carries information from the processor to the main memory and the rest of the system. A processor's internal multiplier multiplied the FSB speed of the system = that processor's speed in MHz or GHz.

Increasing the clock speed of the FSB (and thus the speed of the memory and the processor as well) is the most common and effective way of overclocking a modern computer.

AMD Athlon 64-based systems do not use a conventional FSB since the memory controller is built right onto the processor's core instead of being located in the motherboard's core logic chipset. Instead, a value called motherboard clock speed is used to determine the speed of data transfer between the processor and the memory. For the purposes of this article, FSB and motherboard clock speed are interchangeable terms.

Internal Multiplier: The ratio of a given processor's speed (in MHz or GHz) as compared to the FSB (Frontside Bus) speed of the computer system it is installed in. A processor with an internal multiplier of 16x installed in a system with a FSB of 200MHz would run at 3.2GHz internally, since 16 x 200MHz = 3.2GHz. Most modern processors are 'multiplier locked' to some degree, meaning that their internal multiplier cannot be changed (or at least increased). This in turn means that increasing the FSB speed of a system is the only way to overclock the processor.

Memory Divider: Most modern Intel Pentium 4 and AMD Athlon motherboards allow a memory divider to be set. This divider allows the system memory to run slower than the actual FSB speed. By default, FSB speed and memory are usually set to a 1:1 ratio, meaning that increasing FSB speed (by overclocking) increases memory speed by the same amount. Most 'generic' system memory is not built for overclocking and thus may not be able to take the level of overclocking that the processor or motherboard can achieve.

The memory divider allows users to mitigate this problem by reducing the speed increase of the memory relative to that of the FSB and the processor. Setting a 5:4 memory divider would mean that memory speed increases at 4/5th the rate of the FSB, for example.

Reducing the relative speed of the memory does result in a slight decrease in performance as compared to the default 1:1 ratio between FSB and memory speed, but it may help users with generic memory achieve a higher overclock.

Stock Speed: The default or factory speed settings of computer hardware like the processor, memory and motherboard. With the processor, stock speed refers to the clock speed in MHz or GHz of the processor. With the memory, stock speed refers to the highest standard memory speed that the memory module is rated for (PC3200 DDR memory has a stock speed of 200MHz, for example). In the case of the motherboard, stock speed refers to the default speed at which the processor and memory work together, the FSB speed.

To tie this all together, say a motherboard has an Athlon XP 3000+ processor installed (stock speed 2.1GHz) which uses a FSB speed of 166MHz. A PC3200 DDR memory module (stock speed 200MHz) is installed. Since the processor requires a 166MHz FSB, the motherboard will set the memory speed to 166MHz which becomes its stock speed with the current configuration.

Core/Memory/Chipset Voltage: These three voltage values represent the amount of electrical power being fed to the respective components. When a processor, memory or motherboard is made to run faster due to overclocking, more voltage may be required in order for that component to run stably. With this in mind, voltage adjustment is one of the most important principles of overclocking.

If an overclocked computer becomes unstable, increasing one or more of these voltage settings by a very small amount (0.05V to 0.1V) can often mean the difference between an unbootable system and a stable overclocked one. That being said, it is important to make some distinctions with respect to voltage adjustments; more voltage does not necessarily mean faster speeds, rather minor increases can help improve stability. Computer circuits are designed to operate within very specific electrical ranges, and drastically increasing the electricity being supplied to a chipset will raise temperatures, and potentially damage it. The role of the CPU, motherboard and memory in overclocking

When overclocking a computer, the processor, system memory and motherboard all have a different and important part to play in the process. The abilities and overclockability of each component has a significant effect on how successful the whole experiment will be. Let's take a closer look at each component:

The Processor (CPU): As readers might know, two important variables govern how fast a modern processor goes. Its internal multiplier and the FSB (Front Side Bus) setting of the motherboard and memory. The FSB is the effective speed of data transfer between the processor and the main memory (it's also the base speed that the system's memory runs at), while the multiplier is an internal indicator of the speed of the processor.

A processor's speed equals its multiplier (x) the FSB in MHz. Therefore, an Intel processor with a multiplier of 16 working with a FSB speed of 200MHz would run at 3.2GHz. There are two ways a processor can be made to run faster; increasing the multiplier, or increasing FSB speed.

Many modern processors have 'multiplier locks' which prevent users from changing the internal multiplier settings partially or completely, so increasing FSB speed tends to be the most common and effective method of overclocking.

The Memory: A system's main memory speed determines the speed of data transfer between the processor, memory and the rest of the system. As you can imagine, this is the most important variable for computing performance in some systems. In all modern Intel and AMD systems, the FSB speed is directly linked to the speed of the memory by default, so the faster the memory is clocked, the faster the processor goes, since processor speed = (internal multiplier (x) FSB speed). This can be changed, but the 1:1 ratio between FSB and memory speed is the most desirable for overclocking.

AMD Athlon 64 systems do things a bit differently, since the memory controller is part of the CPU itself, so there is no conventional FSB carrying data from the processor to the rest of the system. Overclocking the memory still works essentially the same way, though the technology/terminology has changed. More on this in our AMD overclocking section below.

The Motherboard: Just as the motherboard is the heart of every computer system, it is also central to your overclocking efforts. The motherboard's circuitry connects the processor and memory together and its BIOS options determine in what ways and by how much they can be overclocked. Even the highest quality memory and most overclockable processor can accomplish nothing if placed in a motherboard with no or limited overclocking options in its BIOS, or a board equipped with a new, poorly implemented or unstable core logic chipset.

Again, each component above depends on the other two when it comes to overclocking.

Hardware considerations for overclocking: Heat and cooling

The faster a computer goes, the more heat it produces. This is especially true when the voltage being fed to certain components is increased, a standard overclocking method. Excess heat in the processor, motherboard chipset or memory can cause crashes and system instability, and may be one of the limiting factors in determining the maximum overclock for a system.

The stock heatsinks included with most processors are perfectly adequate for cooling them at their stock speeds, but may not handle the additional heat generated by overclocking very well, especially if the computer chassis is not suitably ventilated. Readers may be better off investing in one of the many custom cooling solutions on the market, or at least buying some case fans to ensure an adequate flow of fresh air through their case. Take a look here for some cooling ideas. The same goes for the chipset and to a limited degree, the memory. Hardware Considerations for Overclocking

It's also important to keep an eye on the amount of heat the processor is putting out because of the 'thermal throttling' safety systems built into both AMD Athlon 64 and Intel Pentium 4 processors. If either of these CPUs gets too hot, they will slow themselves down drastically in order to keep from burning out. Users will notice this in terms of massively reduced system and benchmark speed, which should clue them into the fact that additional cooling is needed if they wish to continue overclocking. Thermal throttling should never occur in the regular use of a processor, but overclocking is NOT regular use. ;-)

To monitor the processor's temperature, look for the 'system health settings' or similar entry in the BIOS screen.

Though some CPUs run hotter than others (Pentium processors tend to displace slightly more heat than their AMD siblings), all modern processors are happiest in the area between 35°C -65°C. If the processor is showing temperatures over 70°C in the BIOS, chances are that heat is going to be a limiting factor in the computer's stability and overclocking potential. Time to consider a new heatsink and/or better case ventilation.

Power Supply Requirements

Overclocking a computer system also increases the amount of power it draws, and this may lead to system instability if its old 300Watt power supply is not up to the task. If overclocking a modern Pentium 4 or Athlon 64 system, plan on upgrading the power supply to at least 400Watts.

Spontaneous reboots while under load are usually a sign of insufficient power. When that happens, it's definitely time to pick up a new power supply. On that note, while flashy powersupplies full of lights may be good to look at, they do not always indicate the best power quality, or power efficiency. In our experience, powersupplies which support PFC or Active PFC are the best choices. Principals of Overclocking

Before PCSTATS (finally) gets to the practical part of the guide, here's a brief word to prepare readers for the almost inevitable periods of frustration to follow. Overclocking is a very imprecise science; the processor depends on the stability of the motherboard and memory in order to achieve overclocking, and vice versa. If one of these components cannot stand the stress of overclocking, it will limit the other two also.

Heat, voltage and power supply stability are also relevant to overclocking success. Excess heat, not enough or too much voltage and unstable power can all cause the premature failure of an overclocking adventure, and it's next to impossible to pinpoint what is causing the problem.

To avoid frustration as much as possible, be patient. Follow the directions below and take overclocking one small step at a time, so that when trouble occurs you will have a smaller set of potential issues to troubleshoot.

Preparing for Overclocking

In order to get the best out of current hardware, the most recent drivers and BIOS version for the motherboard need to be acquired. System benchmarks should be run pre-overclocking to establish a performance 'baseline'.

Readers should visit their motherboard manufacturer's website to obtain the most recent set of drivers for their motherboard, as well as the most recent BIOS version. For instructions on finding the current BIOS version and overwriting it with a newer edition, see PCstats' Guide on the subject. Newer BIOS versions may add overclocking options and stability, so this is always a good first step.

Establish a Performance Baseline

In order to get a good idea of how overclocking increases the performance of a computer, it's important to take benchmarks and establish a performance baseline for the system.

Download, install and run the following benchmarks:

Sandra 2005 (CPU, multimedia and memory benchmarks)

Record the results of each test. This will be the performance baseline, a level to measure the soon-to-be overclocked computer system against.

Readers should also consider downloading the Prime95 burn-in program, since it is extremely useful for stress testing an overclocked PC to ensure stability. Examining BIOS Options

Since the motherboard controls what options you have for overclocking, it's essential to take a look at the BIOS (Basic I/O System) pages of the board to examine the options available.

Reboot the computer and go to the BIOS screen by pressing the DEL key repeatedly during startup.

Note that some motherboards respond to different key commands to bring up the BIOS. Dell computers for example often rely on F2 or F8, while other manufacturers may opt for F10 to bring up the BIOS.

When the BIOS comes up on the screen you will be greeted with a blue menu with about a dozen headings. Navigate through the list by using the arrow keys, and press 'enter' to select a menu. When you're done press the ESC key to exit, and either save or discard any changes you've made to the BIOS settings.

The first features to look for are CPU and FSB speed adjustment controls. Generally, these will be in a section of the BIOS called 'frequency/voltage control'.

As seen in the screenshots below, this page will contain the FSB adjustment controls and voltage adjustment controls.

Increasing the FSB or 'CPU host frequency' or (Motherboard Clock or FSB or a host of other terms for the same thing) will increase the FSB speed of the motherboard, overclocking the processor and memory at the same time.

Increasing the voltage to the CPU core, memory or chipset will feed more power to those components to aid in stability while increasing heat.

This page may also contain memory divider options depending on the motherboard.

Everything needed to overclock the system should be on this one BIOS page.

Different motherboard's BIOS screens will look different and use different names for the various menus and options, but the options themselves should be grouped together in one menu as seen above. If the memory timings options are not visible, try hitting CTRL+ALT+F1 when entering the BIOS.

The second BIOS page that should be identified now is the 'PC health status' page, or similar.

This page contains the readouts from the motherboard's temperature monitors, allowing users to check how hot the processor is running. Overclocking for performance

Intel Pentium 4 (and AMD Athlon XP) Processor

Intel's Pentium 4 CPUs are 'multiplier locked' meaning that it is not possible to change the processor's internal clock multiplier using the motherboard BIOS. This leaves us with only one option for overclocking Pentium 4 processors; increasing FSB speed.

Intel overclocking is thus quite a simple process.

1. Boot the computer into the BIOS screen.

2. Increase FSB speed in 5-10MHz increments. Reboot after each increment to ensure that the system can still boot into Windows properly.

3. If the system hangs, crashes or refuses to boot into Windows, increase the memory voltage slightly and retry. If this does not work, increase the chipset voltage and finally the core voltage. If this still does not work, reduce FSB settings slightly, reset the voltages to their previous values and try again.

4. Keep going until the system can no longer boot reliably into Windows, then back off to the previous 'safe' settings. Keep an eye on the processor's temperature in the BIOS. Remember that it should be under 70°C.

5. Benchmark the overclocked system and compare the results to the performance baseline established earlier. If the system does not complete the benchmarks or crashes, either reduce the FSB setting slightly or increase voltages to compensate and retry.

6. Depending on the current overclocked FSB speed, a memory divider can be used to try to achieve higher speeds. Note that the memory may not be the limiting factor, and if it is not, the divider will not help.

7. Once a fully benchmarked overclocked setting is achieved, run the Prime95 stress test for a couple of hours to verify that the system is generally stable. Enjoy the free additional performance!

AMD Athlon 64 Processor

Unlike Pentium 4 processors, AMD Athlon 64 CPUs are not completely multiplier locked. Regular Athlon 64's allow the internal multiplier to be reduced, while Athlon 64 FX processors allow complete control. This adds a level of flexibility to overclocking these CPUs, but the basic procedure remains the same. Instead of the FSB, we have motherboard clock speed but the equation remains the same: CPU multiplier x Motherboard Clock Speed = Processor speed in MHz.

The main difference to keep in mind when comparing Athlon 64 overclocking to Pentium4 overclocking is that Athlon 64 systems run slower in terms of MHz speed, but do a lot more work per clock cycle than the Intel competition. As far as this article is concerned, this means that upping the clock speed of the CPU is far more important than increasing memory speed. It also means that even if the memory divider has to be used to squeeze more MHz out of the processor, it will pay off.

In most Athlon 64 systems, the speed of the Hypertransport bus can also be adjusted, but this runs independently of the CPU and memory clock speeds, and is almost completely irrelevant for overclocking (or system performance in general).

Though it's less common with modern hardware, it's quite possible that during this overclocking adventure the computer system may be (over)driven to a point where it simply refuses to even POST, never mind boot into Windows. If this happens, don't panic.

To restore a system in this condition, power down the computer, unplug it and restore the BIOS to its default settings. This can be accomplished in one of two ways:

Set the BIOS (CMOS) reset jumper on the motherboard into the reset configuration and leave for 20 seconds (consult your manual for its location), then reset the jumper to the default position and power the system on again. The BIOS should now be reset to its default settings.

Or - Remove the CMOS battery (the flat silver disk) from the motherboard using a pencil or similar implement. Leave it out for a minute or two, then replace it and power on the system. The BIOS settings should have been reset, allowing the computer to boot.

Or - While turning on the PC, hold down the Insert key until the POST screen is displayed, enter into the BIOS and select default settings, save and reboot.

Memory Performance (latency vs. speed)

Memory latency is another important consideration when overclocking a computer system. The latency settings of the memory determine how long it waits for certain states to clear before performing new read or write actions. The lower the latency, the faster the memory will perform. Lower latency settings put more stress on the memory and increase the chance of error though, so many lower-end memory modules cannot handle fast latency settings, especially when overclocked. Raising the memory's latency settings may enable a higher overclock to be achieved at the cost of some performance.

Memory latency settings can generally be found in the 'advanced chipset features' section of the BIOS.

According to the last chapter, Raigor Stonehoof, the Earthshaker was slained by Azgalor, the Pit Lord. Cairne Bloodhoof, the Tauren Cheiftain knows that Raigor was slained by Azgalor and was furious that he wasn't there to fight Azgalor off. With his mighty Axe and his brethen, he lead a army of treants, glaive throwers, durids to the battlefield with 4 of the mightest heroes ever recruited by him into war with Azgalor. Cairne lead Jah'rakal the Troll Warlord, Gondar the Bounty Hunter, Rhasta the shadow shaman, Manjix The pandaren Brewmaster and Huskar the Sacred Warrior to fight Azgalor the Pit Lord. Although Azgalor was outnumbered, he stand erected on the front lines and say his last prayers before engage war with Cairne. Ner'zul, The Lich King, who was the supreme head of the scourge summons a horde of super mega creeps to the front lines to help Azgalor. Although the World Tree was unable to gather enought Treants to counter off Ner'zul Super Mega creeps, The World tree increase its treants' movement and attack speed. With both sides charging against each other at the front lines, many of them suffer heavy casualties. With Rhasta Shakles Azgalor and casting Mass Serpent Ward that surround Azgalor, the others thought the war is over as they thought Azgalor is soon to be dead. They let down their guards and start to polish their bloodied swords and staff. Azgalor saw that this was a good chance, he quickly use his duel axe and slashes through the shackle web. Rhasta was shock and he quickly use voodoo on Azgalor. Rhasta's voodoo was completely useless against Azgalor as Azgalor wears a hood of defiance that has 30% magic resistance and voodoo was out after 0.3 seconds. Azgalor immediatly teleport using his Boots of travel to his base and unlease a hell force of Super Mega creeps at 5 creeps/second rate. Cairne was shocked and didn't know what to do. The first thing that crosses his mind is to fight to the end and he run towards the marching unlimited force of Super Mega Creeps of the Scourge. Rhasta couldn't let Cairne fight to death and he cast Shackles on Cairne and drag Cairne back to safety. Although the others didn't know what to do, The World Tree warn them to fall back and retreat till they recuperate enough strength for another battle. The Treants are the only Blockers blocking the entrance to the Sentinels land from the Ghouls. Although many Treants were killed in action, they were able to hold the front lines for a few months till they exhausted themselves. With the Sentinels thinking of ways to fight, Azgalor return to Ner'zul, The Lich King in the frozen throne and ask for his extras energies back that can grant him immortality. Ner'zul declined and said that when the time is right, he will get back his immortality powers. Although Azgalor never believed what Ner'zul says, he gather up an escort of Ghouls and leave the Scourge lands on a Goblin Zeppline in search of new weapons, food and water. He also leave the Scourge land to recruit more undead heroes.

After 1 year of holding the front lines, the resistance break and the Super Mega Creeps entered the lands of the sentinels. The sentinels know that hiding behind an army of Treants wouldn't let them escape death and so, the heroes arise from their base and charge towards the Super Mega Creeps and kill one by one. With both sides suffering heavy casualties, None of them wishes that they will lose.

Once upon a time, the 2 nations, Sentinels and Scourge live in harmony until one day when Roshan attack and kill a treant (It was the treant fault since he go agitate Roshan). It started the war and many heroes were force to fight for honour. Many heroes that were once friends became enemies and enemies became friends. The first batch of ghouls and treants were summon and were fighting each other. It was said that ture heroes rise upon the ashes and indeed, Raigor Stonehoof, the Earthshaker has proved it. He was once a mining slave kept by the centaurs after being kipnap by the Centaurs when he was young from the tauren camp. After knowingly that the peace and harmony is about to end, he started to run away from his centaurs masters and join the Sentinel army. He was believe to be the first to lead a force of no more then 5 treants, 1 druid and 1 giave thrower into the war. He fought hard but was slain by Azgalor, The Pit Lord in the front lines. He fissure Pit Lord but he misses it. He was mad, he use his only fortune on a clarity potion and was clarified where Pit Lord was. He was so angry that he run towards Azgalor and Echo slam him without knowing that Azgalor was over leved. Although a 1.5 second stun was given by his Aftershock, he was ensnare in the Pit of Malice by Azgalor for 3 seconds and 3 seconds was all Azgalor needed to cast Firestorm to bun Raigor. Allies of Raigor and Azgalor both suffer heavy casualities and many of them were kill in action. It was it, with Raigor skills still cooling down, he was unable to do anything else except to fight to the end. With his injured arm, Raigor dash towards Azgalor and Azgalor cast explusion, causing the nearby corpse to explode and deal 80 damage with ministun. Raigor didn't expected it to end like this and soon, he fallen down and his journey ends. Although the lost of Raigor was unpreventable, many heroes were ready to fight to the end to end this war.

Many heroes form alliances and some betrayed their homeland just for the sake of gold. All modes were set by god himself as he look upon the fight that was about to began. With 5 heroes having enough courage to fight for the 2nd invasion, they were soon bless and curse by the both races. Neutral Creep camps didn't want to join in this war and were left to live on their peaceful lifes but life ain't fair. Some heroes that was tired of getting no money and experience because of kill stealing by their allies, turn their goals to the neutral creep camps. Neutral Creeps weren't on any sides and thus, killing them won't get into trouble on either sides. Many Neutral Creeps were killed in each battle and Roshan, the inmorale rock golem, decided to hide in his throne with the scourge. Although after 5 months of fighting, Roshan was bann from the Scourge for being a free loaded and he was allow to live alone. With either sides to go to now, Roshan continues to live in his throne on scourge lands. 4 Major races, the human alliance, the orcish horde, the night elves sentinels, the undead scourge, join in this war too. After fighting for ages, many army and heroes were dying of thirst and hunger as the water from the river was cursed and the food suppiles were plagued. They were so angry at each other that they eat the corpse for food and drank the blood for water. Both sides were running low on resources and recently, with the economic crisis, prices of a power threads, a generic shoes rose to as high as 1.8k worth of gold. With shoes being so expensive, swords and food will be over priced and so, many were force to fight without weapons. One good example of this is the army. The army were badly equipped and was to fight with their claws and fingernails instead of a durable weapon in hand. Both army slashing each other to end the wars, it was totally a dispute between them of whoes fingernails are the trendy nowadays. With Razor, Lightning Revenant holding up his old wii controller and altering it so that it could use the electricity on the mains as a weapon. Both sides were innovative and created their own weapons from anything they could find. Especially Rexxar, the BeastMaster, with 2 blades tied on a rod, he was the first to create alot of throwable boomerang kind of axe and used it in his first war. With both sides suffering heavy causualities, many of them wished that they were alive the next day.

Why it lag?

I finally know why when i play DotA on my 7 year old AMD Sempron 2200+ custom build computer will lag sometime. It is because i had the graphic settings to maximum and therefore it lag. I never know this until Brandon told me at Eugene's house while playing DotA using Eugene's Intel Duo Core Laptops and PC. Eugene's Laptop lag sometime too even with the settings at low. I dunno why but after i set the graphic settings on my computer to low, it is lag and hassle free.

Therefore, I hereby conclude that is stupid not to have the settings to low. Anyway, I am building at new computer for myself and upgrade my old computer for my brother to use.

Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne is a real-time strategy computer game developed for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS and Mac OS X by Blizzard Entertainment. It is the official expansion pack to Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, requiring Reign of Chaos to play. Released in stores worldwide in multiple languages beginning on July 1, 2003, it includes new units for each race, a new neutral race, four campaigns, five neutral heroes (an additional neutral hero was added April 2004 and two more were added in August 2004), the ability to build a shop and various other improvements such as the ability to queue upgrades. Campaign

Illidan Stormrage has gained the allegiance of the Naga, former Night Elves who adapted to underwater life and become strange, reptilian creatures. The Warden Maiev Shadowsong pursues her former prisoner, Illidan, across the sea, first to the Tomb of Sargeras. However, Illidan gains an artifact known as the 'eye of Sargeras' and wipes out some of Maiev's best women. Forced to call for help, she sends a messenger back to the mainland of Kalimdor. She asks the assistance of Malfurion Stormrage and Tyrande Whisperwind, but Maiev holds a grudge against Tyrande for her actions in releasing Illidan. Although they are able to chase Illidan to Lordaeron, while helping the Blood Elven prince Kael'Thas, Tyrande delays the advance on an Undead army that causes her to be swept away downriver: upon their reunion, Maiev lies to Malfurion, claiming Tyrande was killed in order to prevent Illidan's escape. Malfurion and Maiev prevent Illidan from using the artifact called the Eye of Sargeras, defeat his army and condemn him to death. Illidan tries to justify his actions by saying his plan was to use the Eye to destroy the Icecrown Glacier and kill the Lich King, thereby destroying their common enemy in the Undead, but Malfurion accuses Illidan of having indirectly causing Tyrande's death. Kael'thas informs him Tyrande may have survived; Maiev's treachery comes out, and the brothers Stormrage join forces to save Tyrande. At this point, Kael'Thas supposedly takes a few more days to meet up with the human forces in the city of Dalaran, the exact same city in which they stopped Illidan. Malfurion then pardons Illidan after they save Tyrande, though he does not revoke his exile. Illidan then states that he could not join the Night Elves even if Malfurion did permit it, because his master will be enraged by his failure to use the Eye properly, and will hunt him down. Illidan departs for Outland, followed by Maiev. It seems as though Maiev would chase Illidan to the depths of the world, as she would do so. Malfurion then remarks that she has become 'vengeance itself'.

In the next campaign, the Alliance Campaign, the Humans are not the main focus unlike in previous games. Instead of the full Alliance, only the Blood Elven units are available (after the first mission), with the addition of the Draenei and Naga (who join forces with the Blood Elves throughout the game). Prince Kael'thas is the leader of the Blood Elves, a group of High Elves that survived the invasion of Quel'Thalas by the Scourge. Originally helping the Alliance, the Blood Elves are imprisoned by a racist Human leader, Garithos, for taking the help of the Naga to defend Dalaran. In the dungeons, however, they are eventually rescued by Lady Vashj and her Naga. Vashj then helps free the other Blood Elves and takes them all to Outland, the remnants of the Orc realm Draenor, to meet their master Illidan. After fending off Maiev and gaining the allegiance of the native Draenei, Illidan is able to conquer Outland, storming the stronghold of the ruling Pit Lord, Magtheridon, where he hopes he will be safe from his failure to destroy the Frozen Throne. His master, the demon warlock Kil'jaeden, catches them nonetheless, and Illidan begs for forgiveness, claiming that he was merely gathering more forces to defeat the Undead Scourge. Kil'jaeden gives Illidan one last chance to destroy the Frozen Throne...or suffer his wrath.

In the lands of Lordaeron, now known as the Plaguelands, Arthas returns to take his throne. After purging the capital city of humans once more, a civil war takes place. The Undead forces splinter into three major factions: Arthas and Kel'Thuzad, loyal to the Lich King; the Forsaken, led by the Banshee Queen Sylvanas Windrunner; and the 3 Dreadlords (Balnazzar, Detheroc, and Varimathras), loyal to the Burning Legion, seeking to avenge the Legion's defeat by controlling the Undead. Although it is speculated that Arthas would dominate all factions, he is forced to journey to Northrend, as Illidan's use of the Eye of Sargeras, while failing to kill the Lich King, has cracked his glacial prison and caused his power and that of his followers to weaken. In the end, Sylvanas defeats the Dreadlords, enslaving Varimathras and slaying the others, to become the nominal ruler of the Plaguelands, while Arthas travels to Northrend to defend the Lich King, battling the subterranean Nerubian race and Illidan's forces. After a ferocious battle between the Undead army of Arthas, and Illidan's Blood Elf and Naga troops to siege the four obelisks, which allows access to Icecrown glacier, Arthas defeats Illidan in a duel, and ascends to the Frozen Throne. He becomes one with the Lich King by donning the armor of Nerzhul. The new Lich King's further plans will be explored in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King.

Horde mini-campaign

The mini-campaign focuses mainly on two Heroes, Rexxar and Rokhan.

The Orc mini-campaign is a departure from the rest of the game. It has features more like an RPG similar to Diablo, featuring a Beastmaster named Rexxar as he helps the Orcs defend and develop their new home of Durotar from various enemies. The Orc mini-campaign was created because the game designers felt that the Orc storyline didn't fit into the main plot of The Frozen Throne. The mini-campaign allowed the designers to move away from standard real-time strategy conventions and explore new level design and gameplay concepts. This campaign was extended by two more chapters through patches of the main game.[1] It also established plot and setting details in preparation for Blizzard's MMORPG World of Warcraft. Completing the other campaigns is not a requirement to play the mini-campaign as the menu immediately allows the player to choose between the campaign missions and the mini-campaign.

In the wilds of Kalimdor, Rexxar comes across an Orc messenger who is attacked and mortally wounded, subsequently passing on his message to Rexxar before he dies. Rexxar gives the message to Thrall, the warchief of the Horde. He stays in the city of Orgrimmar for a while, performing a number of duties for the Horde to earn his keep. Eventually, he discovers that a force of Humans is planning an invasion of Durotar, led by Grand Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, who has seized control of the Theramore islands from his daughter. Rexxar gathers allies for the Horde, the taurens led by Cairne Bloodhoof and the ogres led by Rexxar, and leads the assault on the islands to end the threat to the Horde. The Admiral is slain, and the Orcs leave the island in peace, but the truce between the Horde and the Alliance seems forever strained by the battle.

There is also an extra hero, Chen Stormstout the Pandaren Brewmaster available for playing if the optional quest 'Rare Brew' is completed

Additions

A well-established Human base.

For each race, The Frozen Throne adds several new units and buildings, and one new hero per race. The entirely new race "Naga" has also been added, and can be played in several Night Elf and Blood Elf missions, as well as in custom maps if their basic unit (the Mur'gul Slave) is added via the World Editor. A smaller race, the Draenei, have also been included, though they can only be played in the Human campaign and World-Editor created maps. The old siege engines of the Humans, Orcs and Night Elves have been renamed and remodeled, receiving new upgrades in the process. The population limit has been increased from 90 to 100.

The expansion and its subsequent patches made the addition of neutral Hero units, which appear in the single player campaigns. Neutral heroes can be used in melee maps via the Tavern, a neutral building to hire them. The tavern can also instantly revive any fallen hero, with an increased resource cost, and reduced health and mana of the revived hero. A nearby unit is needed to access the tavern.

The Warcraft III Map Editor program now allows the user to do more custom work with regards to editing skills and new tileset and models to work with. A mod is being used with an anticipated project of a Warcraft III version of World of Warcraft which allows players to play single-player campaign and have several players play as well. The single-player version is nearly out but the multiplayer-MMORPG version has been delayed due to RTC changes.

Ladder

Battle.net servers host PvP Ladders for The Frozen Throne. Kalimdor (Asia), Lordaeron (USWest), Azeroth (USEast), Northrend (Europe),ThaiCyberGames (Thailand) all have influential players of their own. However, the varied styles of play and range of skill is heavily favored towards foreign realms such as Kalimdor and Northrend. These competitive ladders have driven the game along with yearly pro competitions. In recent years the steady decline of top players on the domestic realms has led to the few remaining top players to leave to Kalimdor, Northrend, retire altogether or move onto the Blizzard MMORPG World of Warcraft. The battle.net ladder includes Solo, Random Team, Arranged Team (2vs2, 3vs3, 4vs4) and Free For All, giving a wide range in which a player can determine and choose which ladder best suits them.

Another problem threatening ladder play is the fact that Battle.net has ceased to update its hack prevention program and a large percentage of ladder users utilizes third party programs for unfair advantages such as having the entire map revealed. The current matchmaking system also prevents players with very positive records from being able to find a game in a reasonable amount of time. At the same time others will join and leave many games repeatedly with an automated program to be matched against players with negative records in what is referred to as "AMM abuse".

Currently every race has a similar balanced counterpart except for the human race which has a greater variety of units. This will remain the situation until a new game has been released possibly Warcraft IV.

Development

Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne was originally announced on January 22, 2003.[2] On February 14, 2003, Blizzard announced the first beta test for the game, which offered 10,000 players to sample the game.[3] On March 10, 2003, 10,000 more players were selected to participate in the beta test.[4] On May 29, 2003, Blizzard announced that the expansion set had "gone gold". There have been many patches, including patch 1.21b which allowed the game to be played without the official CD. On April 4, 2008 Blizzard released a new test version of Warcraft III patch 1.22. The patch was available for testing on the "Westfall" beta server. The Westfall server was recently taken down and a message by Blizzard was given stating that a live release of patch 1.22 to all realms would be forthcoming. On July 1, 2008 patch 1.22 was released. Due to the latest patch, version 1.23, many third-party programs have been rendered unusable. Several third-party programs that reveal the entire map, commonly known as maphacks, have been released for the update. It also disabled collided maps, which would make modified custom maps appear to be the same as the original. Another effect of the patch, which is not included in the release notes, is that custom maps with large filenames will not appear in the game. The limit is believed to be 20 characters, but this has not yet been tested.[5]

Awards and ratings

Like its predecessor, The Frozen Throne was well received among critics. It has an average rating of 90.5% on Game Rankings.[6] It is still played by hundreds of thousands with the aid of the vast editor. Recently patch 1.24 is also released but online gamers are not using the new patch because the latest version of DotA does not work.

Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos (War3 or WC3 or RoC) is a real-time strategy computer game released by Blizzard Entertainment on July 3, 2002 (US). It is the second sequel to Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, and it is the third game set in the Warcraft Universe. An expansion pack, The Frozen Throne, was released on July 1, 2003 (US).

Warcraft III contains four playable races:[1] Humans and Orcs, which had previously appeared in Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness, and the Night Elves and Undead, which are new to the Warcraft mythos.[2] Warcraft III's single-player campaign is laid out similarly to that of StarCraft, being told through all four of the game's races in a progressive manner. Multiplayer mode allows for play against other people, via the internet, instead of playing against computer-controlled characters as is done in the single-player custom game mode.

Gameplay

A game of Warcraft III takes place on a map of varying size, such as large plains and fields, with terrain features like rivers, mountains, seas, or cliffs. In Campaign mode, the map is initially covered with the Black Mask, a dark layer which obscures the landscape beneath until it is explored. The Black Mask, once gone, is permanently removed.[5] Areas that have been explored but no longer are within sight range of an allied unit or building are covered with the fog of war. Though terrain remains visible, changes such as enemy troop movements and building construction are unseen.[5] During a game, players must establish settlements to gain resources, defend against other players, and train units to explore the map and attack enemies (computer controlled foes). There are three main resources that are managed in Warcraft III: gold, lumber, and food.[6] The first two are required to construct units and buildings, while food restricts the maximum number of units the player may control at one time.[7]

The game also introduces creeps, computer controlled units that are hostile to all players.[8] Creeps guard key areas such as gold mines or neutral buildings and, when killed, provide experience points, gold, and special items to a player's hero.[8] Warcraft III also introduced a day/night cycle to the series.[9] Besides having advantages or disadvantages for certain races, at night most creeps fall asleep, making nighttime scouting safer; however, the line of sight for most units is also reduced. Other minor changes to the gameplay were due to the 3D terrain. For instance, units on a cliff have an attack bonus when attacking units at lower elevations.[2]

In previous Warcraft games, there were only two playable races, Orcs and Humans, which had more similarities than differences. Barring cosmetic changes, most Orc units were identical to their Human counterparts. In Warcraft III, the Night Elves and the Undead are added as playable races.[1] Additionally, as in StarCraft, each race has a unique set of units, structures, technologies, and base-building methodology.

In addition, Warcraft III adds powerful new units called heroes. For each enemy unit killed, a hero will gain experience points, which allow the hero to level-up to a maximum level of 10. Progressing up a level increases the heroes attributes and also allows the hero to gain new spell options (bringing RPG elements to the series).[10] Certain hero abilities can apply beneficial auras to allied units. All heroes can equip items to increase skills, defense, and other abilities. At level six, the hero can obtain an "ultimate" skill that is more powerful than the three other spells that the hero possesses (as a reserruction spell for the Tauren Chief and Arthas). Heroes can also utilize the various natural resources found throughout the map, such as controllable non-player characters, and markets in which the hero can purchase usable items.[11] Often, the playing style of ones hero units (it is bound up to three at one time) decides who wins or loses the match/battle.

Campaign

Warcraft III's campaign mode is broken up into four campaigns, each featuring a different race which the player controls. Each campaign is itself divided into chapters, which are like missions. Unlike previous Blizzard titles, such as Warcraft II or StarCraft, players are not directed to mission briefings in which plot exposition occurs and objectives are announced; rather, Warcraft III uses a system of "seamless quests."[12] Some plot development happens in occasional cinematics, but most occurs in-game with cutscenes. Objectives, known as quests, are revealed to the player during the progress of the map. Main quests are those that the player must complete to proceed to the next chapter, but there are also optional quests which are not initially revealed, but can be discovered and completed alongside the main objectives.

Through each race's campaign, the player retains control of one or more heroes, which slowly grow in experience as the levels progress. This experience is carried over to subsequent missions, allowing the hero to grow throughout the course of the campaign.

While different in terms of storyline and precise gameplay, all of the different races' campaigns are structured similarly. Each begins with a level involving simple mechanics to introduce the player to the race and the basic elements of their hero and units. After one or two such levels the player's first "building mission" occurs, requiring them to build and maintain a base while competing with one or more enemy forces. The only campaign that breaks this pattern is the Night Elf campaign, whose first mission involves building a limited base. The last level of each race's campaign is an "epic battle" which means that the player has to strike down a large number of enemy foes and finally destroy their main base. For that, the player has to use the knowlegde he acquired during the latest quests and also has to invent some war-strategies.

Multiplayer

While campaign games can have many different objectives, the sole objective in melee games is to destroy all the opposition buildings and units. In default melee matches, players can pick their own heroes, and losing one will not end the game. To make the game proceed more quickly, by default the map is covered in fog of war instead of the Black Mask.[2] Warcraft III, like Blizzard's previous title StarCraft, allows for single and multiplayer replays to be recorded and viewed, allowing a game to be played at slower and faster speeds and viewed from the perspective of all players.[13] Like all previous Blizzard titles since Diablo, Warcraft III uses the Battle.net multiplayer network. Players can create free accounts in regional "gateways," which helps reduce lag; these are Azeroth (U.S. East), Lordaeron (U.S. West), Northrend (Europe), and Kalimdor (Asia).[14] One should note that at this point in time the U.S. East Gateway has become the de facto standard for online play. Most competitive play is held on this gateway as well as most public play in general. As the game has aged the players have condensed for this reason.[citation needed] Unlike previous Battle.net-enabled games, Warcraft III introduced anonymous matchmaking, automatically pairing players for games based on their skill level and game type preferences, preventing players from cheating and inflating their records artificially.[15] If players want to play with a friend in ranked matches, Warcraft III offers "Arranged Team Games", where a team joins a lobby and Battle.net will search for another team; as with anonymous matchmaking, the enemy team is not known beforehand.[15] Players can also host custom games, using maps created in the Warcraft III World Editor. The game also offers Friends Lists and Channels for chatting, where players can create custom channels or join Blizzard-approved ones.[16] Warcraft III also allows players to band together to form "clans", which can participate in tournaments or offer a recreational aspect to Warcraft III. Global scores and standings in matchmaking games are kept on a "ladder".[17] These rankings can be checked online without the need of the game.

Setting

Warcraft III takes place in the fictional world of Azeroth. Several years before the events of the games, a demon army known as the Burning Legion intent on Azeroth's destruction corrupted a race called the Orcs, and sent them through a portal to attack Azeroth. After many years of fighting, the Orcs were defeated by a coalition of humans, dwarves and elves known as the Alliance; the surviving combatants were herded into internment camps, where they seemed to lose their lust for battle. With no common enemy, a period of peace followed, but the Alliance began to fracture. The events of Warcraft III occur after a timeskip from Warcraft II. This period was originally intended to have been documented in Warcraft Adventures, but that game was canceled in mid-development.[19]

Characters

The Prophet, aka, Magus Medivh, The Last Guardian: Medivh was the son of Magna Aegwynn and the last Guardian of Tirisfal, given enormous power at youth in order to keep the demons from Azeroth. He was, however, possessed from birth by Sargeras, of the Burning Legion, and used to bring the Orcs through the Dark Portal as a precursor to a full invasion. He returns in Warcraft III as The Prophet to ensure the Legion is defeated.

Thrall: The son of Durotan, an Orcish chieftain who had refused the demonic corruption, Thrall was brought up in slavery by the humans after his parents were betrayed and killed. Having escaped from his human masters, he freed his people, imprisoned in the internment camps after their loss of the Second war. He became overall ruler ("Warchief") after the death of the previous leader in battle. He is an honorable and idealistic leader.[20]

Grom Hellscream: The chieftain of the Warsong clan, Grom willingly acquiesced in the corruption, but as it left him he had to fight the lethargy that was usually an inevitable result. His clansmen were the first free orcs that Thrall found after his escape from slavery, and they became friends: they address each other as brother. Grom briefly fell again to demonic corruption after the legion's invasion, but was rescued and freed by Thrall and Jaina. Grom was killed by the action of slaying Mannoroth.

Terenas Menethil II, King of Lordaeron: Terenas was a very old man by this time. He ruled Lordaeron, a kingdom involved in almost all the campaigns, but only appeared in the game cut scenes. He was murdered by his son, Arthas, who had been corrupted by the Lich King. He was pivotal in creating the Alliance that defeated the Horde in the Second War.

Uther the Lightbringer: Uther was the creator of the first order of the paladins, the Knights of the Silver Hand, that fight and heal by the power of the Light. Although he is the original mentor of Arthas, not even he can prevent the prince's eventual corruption. In the end, he is slain by Arthas while protecting the ashes of King Terenas.

Arthas Menethil, Crown Prince of Lordaeron, Son of King Terenas: Arthas, as seen at the beginning of the story, is an honorable, although slightly arrogant, paladin, a pupil of Uther's, who fights with enormous devotion to save his people. Driven to madness by the battle against the plague, he seeks to end the Scourge forever by journeying to Northrend, the "roof of the world". However, once there, he comes across his old friend and mentor, Muradin Bronzebeard. Although Muradin is able to slow his descent into madness for some time, eventually Arthas supposedly killed him by freeing the runeblade, Frostmourne, which consumed Arthas' soul turning him into a deathknight. He returns to his kingdom and turns on his father, slaying him and putting himself on the path to join the Lich King.[21]

Antonidas: An archmage in Dalaran, seen only briefly. He sends Jaina to deal with the plague and is at the forefront of the defense of Dalaran from the Scourge. He lead the forces of Dalaran during its siege, however was murdered by the mad prince when the scourge stormed parts of the city. During the battle, a tome, known as the Book of Medivh, is stolen from Dalaran. Although the remnants of his forces succeed in breaking the siege, and almost kill both Arthas and his majordomo, Kel'thuzad, Archimonde (a demon lord and leader of the Burning Legion) arrives just in time in Azeroth, and destroys the city state.

Jaina Proudmoore: A young Archmage, the daughter of Admiral Proudmoore, taught by Antonidas. She is an old flame of Arthas's and still his close friend when she first appears. She alone of the human leaders listens to the prophet, and journeys to Kalimdor. She then joins up with Thrall, Malfurion, Cairne and Tyrande Whisperwind and they defeat the Burning Legion, and the scourge.[20]

Kel'thuzad: He is first seen living. He was thrown out of Dalaran for Necromancy, and submitted to the Lich King. Arthas kills him before his own fall to the Scourge, and later raises him as a Lich. In this form he summons Archimonde, field commander of the burning legion, to Azeroth.[20]

Mal'ganis: One of the demonic Nathrezim, otherwise known as a dreadlord. He is responsible for much of the plan that leads Arthas to the Lich King, and to corruption. Appears to be killed by Arthas (seemingly on the direct orders of the Lich King, which surprises the Dreadlord), but is actually still alive and plotting for revenge.

Muradin Bronzebeard: A brother of one of the dwarvish kings. He was one of Arthas's mentors. He was searching for the legendary runeblade in Northrend before Arthas arrived. Believed to be killed by the shattering of the ice when Arthas released Frostmourne.

The Lich King (aka Ner'zhul): Ner'zhul was once an orc shaman, who in their old homeland was deceived by the demons and served them, later trying to escape. He was caught, and his body preserved and tortured. His spirit has been frozen in a block of ice in Northrend, and his mind greatly enlarged. He controls all the vast armies of undead by his mental power. He is not an ally of the Legion when he can avoid it (this is why he kills Mal'Ganis). He(conjoined with Arthas) is the main villain in World Of Warcraft:Wrath Of The Lich King.

Tichondrus: The ranking dreadlord in the Legion. First seen overlooking Arthas's work for the Scourge/Burning Legion, later direct commander of the undead. Killed by Illidan in Felwood.

Sylvanas Windrunner: Ranger general of the High Elves. She loses her life to the Lich King during the attack on the Sunwell (murdered by Arthas for the petty slight of irking him and delaying his army's advance), but she then is raised as undead, and becomes a major character in the sequel.[20]

Archimonde: The field commander of the Burning Legion, at this time second in command only to Kil'jaeden, he serves as the main antagonist for the 2nd half of the game. His summoning is the final objective of the Undead Campaign, and his death the final objective of the game. Killed by the ancestral spirits of the night elves on the command of Malfurion Stormrage.

Cairne Bloodhoof: The chieftain of the majority of Tauren in Kalimdor. Almost defeated by the Centaurs, Thrall befriends him and aids his people to retreat. He then joins and aids Thrall.

Mannoroth: An Annihilan, otherwise known as a Pit Lord. Responsible for both the original corruption of the orcs and the attempted recorruption. Killed by Grom Hellscream in a canyon in Ashenvale, which was named Demon Fall Canyon after this event.

Cenarius: Believed to be the son of Elune, the moon goddess of the night elves, he is the son of the ancient wooodland demigod, Malorne and the adopted son of Ysera the green dragonflight aspect. Cenarius has dwelt in Ashenvale for ten thousand years with his people. Killed by Grom in his brief demonic recorruption.

Tyrande Whisperwind: High Priestess of Elune and greatly favored by her, lover of Malfurion Stormrage. She fought in the original defeat of the Legion ten thousand years before. Until she awakens the druids, she is the sole leader of the night elves after Cenarius's death.

Malfurion Stormrage: Leader of the Druids. Woken by Tyrande to fight the Legion. He is the first Night Elf druid, taught by Cenarius.[20]

Illidan Stormrage, The Betrayer: Illidan is the brother of Malfurion and a Night Elf Demon Hunter in his own right. He too fought against the demons in their first invasion, though by unconventional means that others (possibly rightly) distrusted. He was imprisoned for recreating the Well of Eternity on the summit of Mount Hyjal, an action which the Night Elves believed would cause the demons to return. He was cursed by Sargeras which left him "blind" but still able to see all magical properties around living or non-living objects. After being released from his prison 10,000 years later by Tyrande Whisperwind, he consumed enormous power from the Skull of Gul'dan, and transformed into a demon (later in the game series he is half demon, half night elf, but can transform into a demon at will).[21]

Plot

The game's plot is told entirely through cinematics and cutscenes, with additional information found in the Warcraft III manual. The campaign itself is divided into five sections, with the first acting as a tutorial, and the others telling the story from the point of view of the humans of Lordaeron, the Undead Scourge, the Orcs, and the Night Elves.

The game opens with the Orc leader Thrall waking from a nightmare warning him of the return of the Burning Legion.[22] After a brief encounter with a man called "the Prophet", and fearing that his dream was more of a vision than a nightmare, he leads his forces in an exodus from Lordaeron to the forgotten lands of Kalimdor.[23]

Meanwhile, Arthas defends the village of Strahnbrad from demon-controlled Orcs slaughtering them all.[24]. He then joins Archmage Jaina Proudmoore, who aids him in investigating a rapidly-spreading plague which kills and turns human victims into the undead. Arthas kills the plague's originator, Kel'Thuzad, and then purges the infected city of Stratholme. Jaina parts ways with him, unwilling to commit genocide, or even watch him do so. The Prophet, after previously trying to convince other human leaders to flee west, begs Jaina to go to Kalimdor as well.[25] Arthas pursues the dreadlord Mal'Ganis, who was the leader behind Kel'Thuzad, to the icy continent of Northrend, where he helps his old friend Muradin Bronzebeard find a powerful sword called Frostmourne. Meanwhile, Arthas begins to lose his sanity, burning his ships to prevent retreat even when given an order to leave. Fortunately, Arthas and Muradin find Frostmourne and soon Muradin learns that the sword is cursed;[26] Arthas disregards the warning and offers his soul to gain the sword. By doing so, Muradin was struck down by a shard of ice when Frostmourne is released. Arthas kills Mal'Ganis and abandons his men in the frozen north as his soul is stolen by the blade. Some time later Arthas returns to Lordaeron and kills his father, the king.

Now a Death Knight, Arthas meets with the leader of the dreadlords, Tichondrius, who assigns him a series of "tests". Arthas first exhumes the remains of Kel'Thuzad, contained it in a magic urn of the ash of his father and protected by Uther, then later attacks the Quel'thalas, kingdom of the high elves and destroys their capital of Silvermoon. He kills Sylvanas Windrunner, the Ranger General of Silvermoon (only to resurrect her as a banshee), corrupts their sacred Sunwell and revives Kel'Thuzad as a Lich. The Lich informs him of the Burning Legion; a vast demonic army who are coming to consume the world. Kel'Thuzad's true master is the Lich King, who was created to aid the Legion with his Undead Scourge, but in truth he wishes for the Legion to be destroyed. Arthas and Kel'Thuzad open a dimensional portal and summon the demon Archimonde and the Burning Legion, who begins his purging of Lordaeron with the destruction of Dalaran.

Thrall arrives on Kalimdor, meeting Cairne Bloodhoof and the tauren, and clashes with a human expedition on the way to find an Oracle. Meanwhile, the Warsong clan are left behind in Ashenvale to build a permanent settlement, but anger the Night Elves and their demigod Cenarius by cutting down the forests for resources. To defeat them, the Warsong leader Grom Hellscream drinks from a corrupted fountain of health contaminated with the blood of the Legion's pit lord commander Mannoroth, successfully killing Cenarius, but binding his clan to the Legion's control. Thrall manages to reach the Oracle, in fact the Prophet, who tells him of Grom's doings. Following the Prophet's directions, Thrall and Jaina join forces to purge both Grom and the world of demonic influence. They succeed in capturing Grom and healing him of Mannoroth's corruption. Thrall and Grom begin to hunt Mannoroth and Grom kills him, dying in the process, but in doing so freeing the orcs from the their demonic control for good.

Tyrande Whisperwind, leader of the Night Elves, is outraged to find the humans and orcs violating the forests, so she initially vows to destroy them. However, she soon finds out that the Burning Legion has arrived on Kalimdor. In order to oppose the Burning Legion, Tyrande reawakens the sleeping Elf Druids, starting with her lover, Malfurion Stormrage, and frees his brother Illidan Stormrage from prison. Illidan meets Arthas, who tells him about the powerful "Skull of Gul'dan". Consuming the Skull and becoming a demon-elf hybrid, Illidan uses its power to kill Tichondrius. he is however banished from the forest by his brother as he is now demon. Meanwhile, the Prophet reveals that he used to be Medivh, the betrayer from Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. The humans, Orcs, and Night Elves form a reluctant alliance to spring a trap on the Burning Legion, and many ancestral spirits destroy Archimonde at Mount Hyjal. Peace once again comes to Kalimdor as the Burning Legion's forces wither away in defeat.[27]

Most of the music within Warcraft III was composed by Tracy W. Bush, Derek Duke, Jason Hayes, and Glenn Stafford.[28] The Limited Edition of Reign of Chaos came with much of the orchestral music on a separate soundtrack. Each of the four playable races has different music: monastic music for the humans; ambient and Native American-sounding music for the Night Elves; warlike African-sounding music for the Orcs; and fast, haunting music for the Undead. New musical themes were added in the expansion.

One of the signatures of Blizzard games are the unit quotes. If a single unit is clicked four or more times in a row, the unit's voice samples become increasingly comical. The unit may start getting angry at the player, or make allusions and references to other games, movies, or jokes. Movies quoted include Monty Python, Blade Runner, Star Wars Episodes IV & V: A New Hope & The Empire Strikes Back, Army Of Darkness, and Toy Story. Games like Mortal Kombat, Warhammer 40,000, Blizzard's own Starcraft, and Banjo-Kazooie are paid homage, in addition to shows such as Saturday Night Live, The Twilight Zone, and Beavis and Butthead. For example, the Humans in particular do the Monty Python impressions. Click on a peasant character enough, and he'll say things like "We found a witch! May we burn her?" or "YOU'RE the king? Well I didn't vote for you." Or click on a knight, he may say "I NEVER say 'ni'!" or "My favourite colour is blue... No, YELLOW!"

Modding

As did Warcraft II and Starcraft before it, Warcraft III ships with a "World Editor" program that allows players to create their own custom scenarios and maps. The World Editor has features such as unit editing and event triggers. Through Battle.net, players can download and play peers' custom maps. To facilitate modding, third-party developers released tools for spell editing through SLK spreadsheets, customizing skins with .BLP converters, JASS editing, and a file importer that opened up .MPQs. The World Editor was expanded and improved for The Frozen Throne expansion. Though the editor has received updates through game patches, it is not officially supported as a product.[29]

Some custom maps have enjoyed great success, with Defense of the Ancients (DotA) being a tournament item at Blizzcon 2005 and other tournaments around the world.[citation needed]

In addition to the regular game, there also exists a limited Collector's Edition Warcraft III bundle. The collector's edition box contained a Warcraft III cinematic DVD, including behind-the-scenes features and the cinematics of all prior Warcraft games; a Collector's Edition Soundtrack; a Collector's Edition instruction manual; The Art of Warcraft book; and lithographic prints.

Blizzard Entertainment also released the Warcraft III Battle Chest, which contains Reign of Chaos bundled with The Frozen Throne in one box, along with guides from BradyGames.

Another version, the Exclusive Gift Set, came bundled with the cinematic DVD, official BradyGames strategy guide, and Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition.

Warcraft III is also available in the Best Sellers Series along side StarCraft, StarCraft: Brood War, Diablo, Diablo 2, and World of Warcraft. Also, a selection of games from other companies other than Blizzard have been included in the Best Sellers Series.

Reception of Warcraft III was extremely positive; the game averages a 93.1% at GameRankings.com,[33] and "Universal Acclaim" at MetaCritic, based on dozens of reviews.[34] While GamePro noted that "WarCraft III doesn’t revolutionize the RTS genre", they still praised Blizzard for delivering a title with "a well-executed story, drum-tight game-play and a long shelf life as a multi-player title."[31] GameSpot noted that as with StarCraft, the ability to experience the action from all sides "is of great appeal." The reviewer also noted that Warcraft III made the early stages of the game more interesting and less formulaic; in most RTS games, he noted, "the initial build-up period in such games is merely a race to get to the best units first."[32] Most reviewers noted that Blizzard had finally fleshed out the storyline of the first two Warcraft titles, finally giving each side its own motivations and differences beyond cosmetics.[35] IGN noted that "There's not a ton that's new to RTS buffs out there, but it's done well enough that you either won't notice or won't care."[30]

However, criticism included the inability of the player to change the fate of Arthas' "turn to the dark side." Instead, Gamecritics.com noted, the player "has to sit by as Arthas slides into insanity."[35] Other reviewers noted that the character models were of mediocre quality, especially when viewed up close during in-game cinematics. [32]

Finally a good Saturday

My mum instead of scolding me for skipping tuition and not returning back home on time. (I return like 7pm) Treat me, Eugene and Wai Kit to movie (Very good hor?). She also fetch Eugene from his house there and we meet Wai Kit at 9pm at hub. After buying the darn tickets which is at 11.40pm, my mother left and we went to Raiders LAN. Playing for 2 hours of DotA, Left 4 Dead and Battlefield 2 (I actually wanted to play command and Conquer de lor). We ran back to hub to buy popcorns and nachos then well, we watch UP and the god dam show lasted till 1.20am (Eugene sleep like PORK halfway). Then we waited for my mother to come and fetch at about 1.50am after being drunk with sleepyness (Wai Kit and Eugene was talking crap to that McDonald statue). After bringing Wai Kit back to his house, we left and gone to golf course, planning to fish there after talking about fishing somehow but my mum disallow so we get back into the car and leave. Luckily Eugene found Wai Kit's HP in the car if not, Wai Kit will be sobbing like crap (who cares seriously). Call Wai Kit house and instead, it was his maid talking. The maid somehow got hearing problems and couldn't understand until we speak every fucking word by word (Luckily i used Wai Kit's own phone to call him if not, i would have waste alot of money). Finally Wai Kit answer the call from his eternal slumber and then Eugene and i went up to his house and pass his darn phone to him (He never say thank you until he realise he was sleep-talking). After that, we went back home after we bring Eugene back to his house. I gone home like 3am plus. I ate supper then gone to bed. Wanted to sms Elena about saturday but was so beat up that i slept longer than god himself.

The Witless Protection Program was established in 1962 by the Witless Protection Act, and provides protection to stupid people from their own stupid acts. The Witless Protection Act provides funds to states to create signs and warnings to prevent the witless from causing themselves harm.

The true history of Witless Protection can be traced all the way back to the Ten Commandments. According to the Bible, God looked down upon the witless masses and decided they needed a set of guidelines to keep them from harming each other. Commandments such as "Thou shall not kill" may seem obvious to us now, but only because of the Commandments.

Even though the seeds had been sown for such a program, the Witless Protection Act was only passed in 1971 (9 years after the program was established), when the United States had reached all-time low Common Sense levels. Senator Strom Thurmond petitioned Congress to pass this act, in his words, "for all them dumbass whipper-snappers that don't know not to lick live wires or stick their fingers in the electric pencil sharpener. Chrissake, people. Y'all don't have the sense to even come in out of the rain!"

Congress, not knowing any better, passed the act.

The revision of this sign has led to a dramatic decrease in injury, thanks to the Witless Protection Program.

Witless Protection is not an exact science. Many of the program's protective warnings have undergone revisions since their inception.

The first warning issued under the Witless Protection Program was a sign for convenience store ovens. The sign originally read "Caution: Hot Surface", with the hopes that this would prevent the witless from touching the oven. However, in 1983 a man severely burned his finger testing to see if the oven was indeed hot. After this, the sign was revised to read "Caution: Hot Surface. Do not touch!"

In a similar case, packets of silica gel were initially labeled as simply "Non-Toxic". When it was learned that people had taken this to mean "go ahead and eat this", the label "Do Not Eat" was added.

Likewise, the Washington Biological Survey has had to reword the "Wash. Biol. Surv." wildlife tags its researchers place on crows due to complaints that the crows, once washed, boiled and served, tasted simply terrible.

The sign "Wet Floor" has also been problematic. The wording was recently deemed to be nonspecific, and offered no alternate course of action. The sign currently reads simply "Wet Floor". Under recent proposals from the Witless Protection Agency, this wording would be revised to read "Wet Floor. You May Fall Down. Be Careful or Walk Elsewhere." It is hoped that these changes will help to prevent the witless from acting carelessly around these floors, as well as disambiguating the signs so they are not interpreted as orders.

All of the above take up only 87% of us, so we better make good use of them.

Scientists and renowned experts in the field of stupidity have found ways for people such as yourself to cloak your retardation in a gleaming mirage of intelligence. The following are the steps necessary for you to seem less stupid than you really are:

Don't make signs detailing your mentally retarded exploits like these guys. Instead, make me a pie. I like pie.

Step 1. Don't say you're stupid

Having discovered your god-given sense of stupidity, your objective would be to prevent others from finding out your own personal idiocy. Spell check your documents and use the thesaurus as frequently as possible. Imitating this fashion trend would help people identify you as a smart person, when you clearly aren't. Instead of wearing only your undergarments, wear a lab coat. Decorate your pimple encrusted face with a pair of 6 inch glasses and equip your pockets with proper protection. Cover your frostbite ridden feet with a pair of shoes, and fill your pockets with pencils, calculators, and an assortment of scientific equipment. Once you are finished, those who see you will automatically think of you as a smart person, despite your subzero IQ.

Conclusion

Human beings are a disease of the species Homo sapiens, that means they are hairless monkeys. Unique among mammals, humans never reach a natural equilibrium with their environment. They spread to an area and they multiply and multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. Then they spread to another area. One other organism on this planet follows the same pattern - a virus.

Humans are prone to stubbing their toes and suicide. Interestingly, commiting suicide to avoid the pain of a stubbed toe is considered foolish in most cultures. Humans live in tiny boxes called "flats" where they feel really cooped up, so this may be one reason why they frequently commit suicide. Humans kill themselves in a number of ways, including eating toxic chemicals and smoking paper tubes filled with tobacco. They also kill each other in wars as a favour to one another. Humans are ~~thought to be~~ almost certainly ~~one of~~ the least intelligent animal species.

Back in the 1830s, Mel Gibson wrote, directed and starred in a movie named Star Wars. To make it come to life he required the existence of a new species, so he found the nearest bakery and created millions of humans, in a variety of flavors, and equipped them with an epic backstory. Millions of years ago, long before our arrival on this fair planet from some dim galactic pus-pocket, a primitive group of clever barbarians, the humans, evolved from a group of dust mites which escaped from a nuclear reactor built by aliens. They were a worthless bunch, but managed to survive anyway.

Humans (pronounced as HEW-mins, pluralized as H00men), also known as meatbags, are a race of subterranean animals which thrive off the nuclear radiation produced by the Backstreet Boys. They thought that they were the most intelligent species on the planet, along with Chimps, Dolphins, Elephants, Parrots, Octopi, Squirrels, Pigs, and Mice, but were actually the most stupidest species in the universe. THEY WILL ALWAYS be destroyed by aliens in EVERY sci-fi book. ALWAYS.

The current scientific name, Est Bardus (caca)caput, is Latin for stupid shithead, which pretty much characterizes this creature. The older Homo sapiens (Lat. gay old human) is still widely in use in scientific literature.

At first, humans were thought to be merely the servants of a far sleeker, more interesting species, the pussy. Some men have suggested that this seems to be the case in their marriage. Most single men have, in recent times, suggested that this was not the case.

Many of the IH sub species initially retreated to "cyberspace" where they spent their lives discussing the deeper meaning of life; however it would not be long before the SH learned of the mythical interweb and would begin to corrupt it by merging it with their reality television and Hollywood gossip. It is expected that intelligent humans will begin a mass migration into the wilderness in the upcoming years, in order to escape the abomination of society they helped create. Stupid humans are the least intelligent, and usually spend their times crossed eyed and drooling at Starbucks, trying to see if their clothes are as fashionable as the idiot sitting next to them.

There has been some controversy lately as to whether humans are real or not. Huge scientific research teams say that there is evidence that humans may have existed as recently as twenty million years ago, but no one is sure. Another theory is that humans are penguins in disguise.
